Working side by side with the end-users allows you to, almost instantly, see the value of your work. This creates an exciting and rewarding experience that provides a great sense of contribution.
Here’s what the job entails
In the role, your primary function will be to collaborate with business stakeholders and other data engineers to discover new data features and data products, leveraging the billions of data points we process every day. You will act as a “data enabler” for the business, ensuring quants and analysts have the right data for pre-trade analysis and for working on machine learning models.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
collaborate with key stakeholders responsible for pre-trade analysis to deliver end-to-end data pipelines
through collaboration with stakeholders, you should scope new tasks based on their needs
maintain and continually improve products in the portfolio and the underlying data platform(s)
review other team members’ code and share learnings within the team as well as with the data engineering community in Danske Commodities (DC)
learn new technologies and transform your learnings into applicable tools to benefit our business stakeholders and your own development
Meet your team
You will join the Automated Trading & Quantitative Technology team that works with end-to-end data pipelines with both on-prem and cloud technologies. Our primary responsibility is to deliver solutions to trading analysts and quantitative analysts, where we provide data used in pre-trade analysis, and to develop data features for existing and new machine learning models.
We are a team of 25 software and data engineers, that enjoys getting together for dinners, paddle matches, mini golf tournaments – and not least, our epic DC parties. Everyone in the team enjoys a high degree of flexibility in designing a workday that matches their personal preferences. The team are a curious and motivated bunch – curious about each other, about the DC business model and, of course, about anything related to data and analytics. Our culture is informal and always with value creation at the forefront of everything we do.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will be working with many different stakeholders, whose needs you need to understand to create value, we are looking for someone with great collaboration skills. Also, as we deal with a lot of data, we imagine that you take a structured approach to information processing.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a relevant educational background within business intelligence, economics or similar.
have a minimum of 2 years’ experience from a similar position where you have developed and maintained data pipelines for business stakeholders
are proficient in Microsoft SQL or Python
are proficient in English – both written and verbal
The maternity cover position will be effective from the earliest possible date until end of 2026. Also, please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
