You will start working directly on the trading floor, acting as the link between trading and the rest of the organisation. Here, you will be ensuring that operations run smoothly while also making sure that daily tasks get done on time
Here’s what the job entails
In the role, your main task will be to support the power trading teams with their daily tasks on a shift-based schedule. At first, you will start out by learning the business we operate in, right where it all happens, on the trading-floor. As you develop, you will also have the opportunity to develop and maintain numerous business tools where your focus will be on process optimisation and visualisation.
Your responsibilities include:
overseeing scheduling and balancing of internal and external electricity flows
controlling nothing less than 15 screens while being on shift and monitoring our work-flows
continuously communicating with internal stakeholders, external counterparties, power exchanges and transmission system operators around Europe
supporting traders and the rest of the organisation by ensuring we meet deadlines for over 500 daily operational tasks
taking part in the shift scheme from 07:00-14:00 (morning shift) and 14:00-20:15 (evening shift) to keep operations running smoothly every day of the year
Meet your team
As our new student employee, you will join our Power Trading Operations team, where we act as the operational experts in Danske Commodities. This role provides great insight into our systems, as well as market dynamics in the energy sector, which gives us a significant role in the organisation’s continuous digitalisation and automation journey.
In the team, we have an informal atmosphere, where we enjoy balancing professional work with fun activities. This includes getting together for padel tennis tournaments, dinners, boardgames – and everything in between. We are a team of young and innovative people who take pride in motivating, supporting and challenging each other.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will join a team that operates in a dynamic market, we are looking for someone who has a positive mindset, sees opportunities where others see problems and is eager to support both big and small tasks. The mindset of “no tasks is too small, and no task is too big” runs through the veins of our team. Besides of that, we see you as curious by nature and willing to learn more about our field.
We also expect that you:
are currently enrolled in a relevant education, for example, within Computer Science, Economics, Finance or Mathematics
are interested in learning the coding languages Python, SQL and VBA – or perhaps you already have some skills within one (or more) of these. We offer internal courses to support your learning.
