Experienced software engineer
Quote
This role uniquely combines hands on software engineering with direct exposure to the financial trading domain and the opportunity to design scalable and loosely coupled systems that have real impact on critical business decisions.
Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will be designing and developing scalable and high-performing solutions that are critical for the business to succeed. We work in a cross-functional product team, enabling us to work with short time-to-delivery cycles and in close collaboration with our main stakeholders.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
analysing customer needs and translating them into solutions that work for the business
designing scalable and robust systems that are built on event-driven principles.
providing system support to our users
maintenance of existing systems to ensure timely delivery of business-critical data
Meet your team
You will be joining the Mid Trade Flow team, responsible for the technical foundation for valuation of trading positions and market data processing. Our job is to ensure that our Risk- and Finance teams consistently receive complete and accurate data.
We are a team of nine specialists with varying backgrounds in development, data engineering, mathmatics and product management. Common for all is a shared affinity towards curiosity, openness and team-work.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will be working very close to your stakeholders, in a complex domain, we imagine that you will thrive working with people and take a collaborative approach to reaching your goals. We also expect that you have a positive approach and a can-do attitude, where no job is too big or too small. We are looking for a colleague who is eager to seek continuous development and improvement, individually, and together as a team. If you take an interest in software architecture, this role can also be shaped to fit that goal, but this is not a requirement.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a relevant educational background in computer science, software development or similar
have a minimum of 5 years’ experience from a similar position where you have worked with software development, system design, and agile methodologies
are proficient within C# (we use .NET, C#, MS SQL, Pulsar messaging, running on a Kubernetes platform)
are experienced in API design and best practices in software architecture
can drive architectural change to ensure robust and scalable systems
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
