You will get the unique opportunity to join a fully automated front office electronic trading team, developing low-touch algorithms and centralising execution activities across the firm, one of the biggest energy trading players on the market.
Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will get to run end-to-end algorithmic trading processes, taking your ideas from research, through implementation, and to live algo maintenance. Your focus will be to ensure that our algorithmic execution stack continues to be best in class, and to develop and execute on market microstructure driven strategies. Another key aspect of this role will be to engage in the continuous improvement of our trading platform; here you might propose new solutions and contribute to best engineering practices, working together with best-in-class engineers.
Concretely, your areas of responsibility will include the following:
developing microstructure driven strategies used for algorithmic execution and proprietary trading
ensure high performance, stability and scalability of algorithms that consume vast amounts of data and operate in a low-latency / high-throughput environment
analyse and benchmark algorithmic performance using strategy level metrics and transaction cost analysis
conduct research that aims to train, test, monitor and simulate quantitative trading strategies
continuous enhancement of our algorithmic trading stack by proposing new ideas and challenging how we work today
Meet your team
You will join the Gas & Power eTrading team whose mission is to unify, streamline and improve the execution capabilities across the commercial units in Danske Commodities. We are a team of quants that work closely with software developers, data engineers, and traders. We take a scientific approach to solving problems, fostering an environment of innovation and collaboration.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will work in a highly complex field, we imagine that you can communicate clearly with stakeholders, ensuring best engineering practices and high performance across teams. We also expect that you are driven, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment as we operate in an ever-changing market where the ability to adapt and act on market conditions is essential for success.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, engineering or any related quantitative discipline
have 3+ years of experience writing state of the art production grade code using C#/C++/Rust or Python
are experienced in development of robust and scalable trading algorithms
expertise with OO design principles and best engineering practices in a high-performance / high-throughput environment
excellent attention to detail, accuracy and a thorough understanding of full life-cycle development and performance optimization.
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
