Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will be the business controller of one of our assets portfolios in the European markets, where you will gain valuable experience in asset management from a finance perspective.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
carrying out P&L calculations, settlement calculations and monthly closing for your assigned area based on large and complex datasets
optimising processes and tools
contributing to and taking responsibility for cross-functional projects
Meet your team
You will join our Controlling & Operations team, where we act as partners for our trading teams operating on the customer side of our business (such as batteries, wind and solar parks). One of our key responsibilities is calculating P&L for these teams and ensuring an accurate month-end close. We analyse and report on P&L and other financial figures, working with large datasets using various tools and technologies. We also handle the customer settlement process and develop and maintain the codes and tools that enable efficient and reliable execution.
We are a team of 12 committed and quality-minded controlling specialists focused on continuously optimising our processes, tools and ways of working – including development of our own solutions for result calculations, month-end closing and analysis. Our team is diverse, with colleagues from around the world, and we have created a welcoming and supportive work environment.
But enough about us… over to you!
Since you will be collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation, we are looking for someone with great stakeholder management skills. In the team, we assist the business with data used for daily decision-making. For that reason, it is important that you take an analytical, structured and curious approach to data and problem-solving.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a relevant educational background, for instance in Economics or Finance
either bring some experience from a similar position, or are a newly graduate (or about to graduate) – we will tailor the onboarding to you
have experience with SQL, R, Python, VBA or Power BI – or are curious to learn
are interested in finance and working with large datasets
are proficient in English – both written and spoken
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
