You will work in the center of our value chain and directly support our ability to grow the business.
Here’s what the job entails
As an experienced Data Engineer, you will join the Early Trade Flow team, where we are responsible for the trade repository - a central area that supports a wide range of downstream systems and processes. Your primary function is to enhance the team’s data engineering capabilities, especially within Microsoft SQL, with a focus on the design and development of complex data solutions across the domain. Thereby, ensuring architectural integrity, long-term maintainability, and alignment with the broader data landscape.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
designing, maintaining and improving robust data solutions, with SQL Server being a key part of our current landscape
contributing across a shared backlog in a product team where data, software engineering and functional specialists are closely connected
helping the team explore new technical opportunities and evaluate where modern platform capabilities may create value
acting as a sparring partner on data engineering topics and helping elevate technical discussions within the team
constructively challenging current solutions and technical decisions, and backing your views with strong technical reasoning
Meet your team
You will become part of a product team where data, software, and functional specialists share responsibility for the backlog and the team's vision. While this role has a clear focus on data engineering, the surrounding technical landscape is highly software-oriented, with most of our stack built in C# .NET. That means you will work in close collaboration with software engineers and contribute to a team where data and application development go hand in hand.
We value people who take responsibility, ask challenging questions, and actively seek better ways of solving problems. We believe in a culture of open and constructive feedback, where ideas and solutions can be challenged respectfully.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will be handling a business-critical data area and join a software-heavy product team, you should be comfortable working in a high-impact environment and willing to challenge current solutions and improve automation, tooling and the technical setup around us over time. You will have both the room and the expectation to help move the team forward.
We also imagine that you:
can work independently on data tasks
are proficient in Microsoft SQL and have solid data engineering fundamentals
have experience building, maintaining and improving data pipelines and other data-centric solutions
have an interest in software engineering disciplines (such as C# .NET and Python) and enjoy collaborating across technical domains
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
