This is a great opportunity if you want to deepen your tax expertise while working across multiple tax areas in a global and ever-evolving energy trading industry and be part of an in-house tax team.
Here’s what the job entails
As Tax Specialist, you will contribute to ensuring that our tax processes are up to date and fully compliant with local country regulations. Initially, your primary focus will be on tax compliance, including preparation of the Danish tax returns for the Danish Joint Taxation Group.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
handling tasks within corporation tax, international tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax
analysing different aspects within corporation tax, international tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax for the Danske Commodities Group as well as for our parent company Equinor’s other Danish entities
assisting in strengthening tax risk management and tax control frameworks, including implementing new governance models
liaising with tax authorities and external advisors
contributing to ad hoc tasks and projects within the team
Meet your team
You will join our Group Tax team, whose primary role is to act as an internal advisor in daily operations, when onboarding new activities and when entering new market areas. As such, we handle all tax matters in Danske Commodities, both in the Danish parent company and in subsidiaries around the world. Our work spans a broad range of areas within corporation tax, international tax, transfer pricing and indirect tax. We are responsible for ensuring compliance across the tax area and work closely with the tax and indirect tax teams in our parent company, Equinor. Our remit also covers Equinor’s other Danish entities.
We are a team of five dedicated and skilled tax specialists where openness and respect are key values. We like new ideas and ways of doing things to be the best tax business partner for our colleagues and to ensure a high compliance level for the company.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will be working in a fast-moving environment, we picture you as an independent person who thrives with responsibility and takes a positive view of new tasks. We are engaging with various stakeholders and collaborating across the organisation, so it is also important that you are good at stakeholder management and can translate tax matters into a clear and relevant business context.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
have a relevant educational background within Law, Auditing, Finance, Economics or a similar relevant field
have at least one years’ experience from a similar role, or as an auditor or tax advisor
are familiar with (or have an interest in) both direct and indirect corporate tax
have experience communicating solutions and recommendations to stakeholders
are curious about using AI and other tools to optimise ways of working
are proficient in English – both written and spoken
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
