Quote
You’ll join a company where finance, technology, and energy markets meet, and where your work will have a direct impact on a fast-paced international energy trading business. Through automation and financial insights, you’ll help drive smarter decisions while supporting the transition towards a more sustainable energy future. In our Brazil organisation, you’ll enjoy a high degree of ownership, collaborate closely with local and global stakeholders and gain valuable experience working in a multicultural environment.
Here’s what the job entails
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Finance team, combining accounting, financial reporting, FP&A, business analysis, automation and backoffice operations, and act as a bridge between the Brazil organisation and our global teams in Denmark, increasing transparency, and ensuring alignment between local business needs and global objectives.
This is a hands-on position, where you will not only drive improvements and insights but also actively execute day-to-day finance activities. Beyond operational responsibilities, you will be expected to challenge existing processes, identify improvement opportunities, automate manual activities, strengthen controls, and develop scalable reporting and analytics solutions. You will serve as a trusted partner in promoting strong governance, compliance, and adherence to company policies, while ensuring that local operations are conducted in accordance with both internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
More specifically, your responsibilities include:
owning month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting under both local accounting standards and IFRS. This includes reviewing account reconciliations, accruals, balance sheet movements, profit and loss performance, and supporting financial statement preparation
supporting management with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and performance reporting while transforming financial and operational data into meaningful insights that help the business understand results, identify risks, and make better decisions
executing day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, investment activities, and bank reconciliations, ensuring timely processing, accurate accounting records, and proper documentation
identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, reduce manual work, and increase scalability through automation and data analytics, and developing solutions using tools such as SQL, Python, Power BI, and other technologies to enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and decision-making
supporting external audits, tax analyses, regulatory reporting, and internal controls (SOX) while working closely with Finance, Treasury, Tax, Operations, and Management teams. Ensuring compliance with internal policies and external requirements while continuously improving finance governance and processes
The position has no direct reports and focuses on individual contribution and stakeholder collaboration.
Meet your team
You will be part of our vibrant office in the financial heart of São Paulo, working alongside 15 dedicated colleagues in trading, risk, legal and administration. The office is known for its high energy and openness, and we enjoy the combination of a professional working environment and social activities to bond, support and inspire each other.
You will join our Group Finance team, where we work across multiple Finance disciplines, including accounting, financial reporting, treasury, cash management, FP&A, compliance, and process improvement, supporting the day-to-day operations and growth of the Brazil business. Our primary responsibility is to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, regulatory compliance and high-quality financial insights that support business decision-making, while promoting transparency and alignment across business areas and stakeholders.
Beyond our operational responsibilities, we continuously seek better ways of working by strengthening controls, automating processes and developing scalable solutions that support the company’s growth. Our culture is characterised by trust, flexibility, and a strong sense of ownership, where individuals are encouraged to take initiative, contribute ideas, and make a meaningful impact on both the local and global organisation.
But enough about us… over to you!
As you will work independently on many day-to-day responsibilities, we imagine that you thrive with responsibility and enjoy working autonomously in a hands-on role. You take ownership of your deliverables, are curious by nature and enjoy understanding how processes, systems, and data connect. At the same time, you bring a positive attitude and proactively engage with stakeholders across Brazil and Denmark with a focus on clear communication and alignment between local and global teams while ensuring compliance with company policies and governance standards.
Furthermore, we imagine that you:
hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
have at least 5 years of experience in Finance, with exposure to areas such as accounting, financial reporting and/or FP&A
have solid knowledge of financial controls, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes, with the ability to ensure accurate and reliable financial reporting
are proficient in SQL and Python, with hands-on experience working with ERP systems (e.g. D365, Protheus), financial reporting platforms (such as TM1), and finance process automation
are experienced in using data analytics and technology to improve reporting, processes, and decision-making
are proficient in English, both written and spoken, as the position requires daily interaction with international stakeholders and active participation in a global work environment
Please note that prior knowledge of the energy sector is not required for this role.
